For me depicting a person is not only a process of making a copy like it would be a subject.

I prefer creating portraits from the life model posing in front of me, so that I could catch not only

the features of the face but also to bring life and character of the person into his or her portrait.

Sometimes it is a tiny detail but very special for the person. This is the difference of the painted

portrait from the photo. You can chose what is a major and what is the minor details.

The process of paiting of the portrait begins from a series of sketches on crafted paper with chaircoal and chalk.

As soon as I chose the composition and the size and dimentions of the canvas I start to make a portrait.

I begin from the darkest elements such as shadows.

Here you can see the examples of my portraits in the process:

It can be a more detailed drawing in the beginging.

…Otherwise it can be coloured shadows with help of a piece of rag:

Then you add more and more details during three hours and normaly it takes two sessions to finish the portrait.

.. and If you and your model are satified with the result you can finish the work.
